Kiwi Gold Glazed Plums over Ice Cream
 
6 plums (pitted and halved)
¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup apple juice
1 tablespoon butter
½ cup September Oaks Vineyards Kiwi Gold
1 teaspoon pure vanilla
dash of salt

Your favorite vanilla ice cream

Place halved plums in a saucepan along with the sugar, butter, apple juice and SOV Kiwi Gold. Simmer on low heat while stirring occasionally for 10- 13 minutes. The sauce should reduce by half and become syrupy. Remove from heat, add salt and vanilla.

Serving suggestion -- place 3 halves on each serving of vanilla ice cream and pair with a glass of SOV Kiwi Gold.

Chef Rachelle is originally from Washington D.C., and spent the past several years creating themed menus and recipes for the Signature Theater in Northern Virginia. She recently relocated to the Hilton Head area where she provides a personal chef service. She is classically trained in French, Italian and Indian cuisines. Russian, Vietnamese and Southern cuisines are her "international" specialties.
